experiencias, identificar desafíos y buscar soluciones colectivas.

Sustainable
Development Goals.
The Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect
the planet and improve the lives and prospects of people around the world. In
2015, all United Nations Member States approved 17 Goals as part of the 2030
Agenda for Sustainable Development, which establishes a plan to achieve the
Goals in 15 years.
The UN General
Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, an action plan
for people, planet and prosperity, which also intends to strengthen universal
peace and access to justice.
The Sustainable
Development Goals are the blueprint for achieving a sustainable future for all.
They are interrelated and incorporate the global challenges we face every day,
such as poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace
and justice. In order not to leave anyone behind, it is important that we
manage to meet each of these objectives by 2030.
The 2030 agenda
has some important characteristics.
- ·
Universality:
Applies to all countries, both developed and developing.
- ·
Integration:
The 17 SDGs are interrelated and must be addressed together.
- · Inclusion:
The 2030 Agenda seeks to leave no one behind, with a special focus on the most
vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
The
implementation of the 2030 Agenda requires the participation of various actors,
including governments, the private sector, civil society and citizens in
general. Each country is responsible for establishing its own policies and
strategies to achieve the SDGs, adapting them to their national contexts and
levels of development.
Review of
progress towards the SDGs is carried out through voluntary national reports
presented to the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. This
forum is held annually and allows us to share experiences, identify challenges
and seek collective solutions.
